This evergreen ivy displays colorful vines of medium sized foliage perfect for planters, baskets, raised beds, ground-cover under trees, in combination with weathered brick, stone or large tree trunks, It spreads slowly to form a cohesive carpet to brighten dark areas, almost retaining a bit of of sunlight on dark winter days. The variegation changes from bright-gold edging on the new growth to cream, almost white as the leaves mature and may be less pronounced in very deep shade. I have obtained this ivy as “Gold Ripple” as well as “Gold Child” and believe that they are identical. An Ivy-guru will have the last word.
