South African bulb, looks like a small hosta with burgundy spotted leaves. It produces small scapes of tiny white flowers in midsummer. Use it to underline weeping Japanese maples, as a filler on a stony slope, as foil for ferns, hellebores, bletilla and farfugiums, it will eventually fill the alotted area. It tolerates any garden soil with good drainage, especially during winter.
